To ensure a successful stairlift installation, it's important to accurately evaluate the staircase and adjacent areas. Clear pictures help with conveying details for the layout, dimensions, and staircase obstructions. This guide focuses on capturing three images: the full staircase, the bottom landing, and the top landing. Follow these recommendations to obtain clear, informative photos, regardless of space constraints.

#1: FULL STAIRCASE VIEW

  • Goal: Take a photo that displays the entire staircase, showing all the steps clearly.
  • How to Do It: Stand at either the top or bottom of your staircase, making sure you can see the whole staircase in your camera. If your staircase bends or has any mid-stair landings, aim to get these in the picture as well.

#2: BOTTOM LANDING VIEW

  1. Goal: Capture a broad photo of the bottom landing to show where the staircase connects with the lower floor. Include nearby walls or any obstacles in the shot.
  2. How to Do It: Position yourself about 10 feet away from the bottom landing to get the entire area in your photo. If the space is too tight, switch to a wide-angle lens or take several pictures from various spots.

#3: TOP LANDING VIEW

  • Goal: The aim is to photograph the top landing, highlighting where the staircase meets the upper floor, along with the area around it.
  • How to Do It: Like with the bottom landing, try to stand roughly 10 feet from the top landing to capture a wide view. If space is limited, a wide-angle lens can help include more of the surrounding area in your photo.

TIPS: TAKE CLEAR PHOTOS

  1. Lighting: Make sure the staircase and both the top and bottom landings are brightly lit.
  2. Use a Wide-Angle Lens: If your camera or phone has a wide-angle lens, try it.
  3. Take Photos from Different Angles: If it's hard to get the whole area in one shot, try taking several pictures from various angles.
  4. Remove Anything in the Way: Before taking pictures, remove items like shoes or decorations that could block the view of the staircase or landings.
