Introduction: This guide aims to provide basic troubleshooting steps for common issues you might encounter with your elevator system. Please carefully follow the steps outlined below to see if you can resolve the issue before scheduling a service call.

Eclipse Elevator Pre-Check:

Step 1: Verify Lift Power and Breakers

  • Action: Ensure that the power supply to the lift is switched ON and that all the circuit breakers inside of the service panel related to the elevator system are in the ON position.

  • Why: Lack of power is a common reason for lift malfunctions.

Step 2: Check Hallway Doors

  • Action: Make sure all the hallway doors associated with the elevator are properly closed.

  • Why: Doors not being closed properly can cause the elevator system to prevent movement as a safety measure.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Step 3: Locate Electrical Disconnects

  • Action: In the machine room, find the electrical disconnects mounted on the wall close to the elevator controller.

  • Why: These disconnects control the power flow to the elevator and can be useful in system resets.

Step 4: Switch OFF Disconnects

  • Action: Switch all the disconnects into the OFF position.

  • Wait Time: Allow the system to remain off for 10 minutes.

  • Why: This step can help reset the control circuits and clear any minor glitches.

Step 5: Switch ON Disconnects

  • Action: After 10 minutes have passed, switch all the disconnects back to the ON position.

  • Wait Time: Wait an additional 5 minutes for the system to reset and start back up.

  • Why: This gives the system ample time to reset all of its internal states.

Step 6: Test the Elevator

  • Action: Try operating the elevator to see if it is now functioning properly.

  • Why: This is the moment of truth to see if the troubleshooting steps resolved the issue.
